“My heart swells with pride when I see the latent potential which these specially-abled children possess.”
Mr. Sanjay Dalmia instituted Masoom NGO – a school for training under-privileged mentally challenged children in the year 2001. The primary vision of Mr. Sanjay Dalmia behind promoting this organization was to support the special children who were often seen as a burden to t their own parents. The initiative started initially with 8 mentally challenged children, in Timarpur, Delhi.
When Masoom NGO first opened its doors children had to be fetched from their homes. They arrived carrying tiny tiffin boxes – one had a roti and green chilli. Another raw jamuns, just water. They were hungry, often unhygienic and had no experience of social interaction.
Mr. Sanjay Dalmia saw that irrespective of their age and disability, these specially blessed children have an enormous zeal to prove their mettle. This is why Masoom NGOhas been committed to the overall development as well as the welfare of special children. It to form healthy habits in teach children, whilst further teaching them social interaction and skill development.
Today Masoom NGO works under the Organization of Understanding and Fraternity and boasts eighty special children who have been acquiring skills to express themselves. The children excel in the diverse fields such as singing, dancing, and folk music, painting, yoga and sports, and even professional crafts like weaving and sewing.
